Celebrating 120 years of the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show

The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show is proudly marking its 120th year, and the celebrations are gathering momentum. Stories from years gone by are being shared once again, recalling a time when the Show was known as “the event of the year” across the region.

From the excitement of Sideshow Alley to the unmistakable sounds of The Great Woodchop, the Show continues to honour its rich traditions. Visitors can look forward to an afternoon filled with reminiscent storytelling of prize-winning exhibits, friendly rivalries in the fruit displays, and lively conversations at the Cattleman’s Bar.

There is still time to register your attendance and be part of this milestone celebration. Whether you are a long-time supporter or a first-time visitor, the 120th Show promises something for everyone.

A highlight of this year’s program is the return of the much-loved Writers’ Competition, proudly sponsored by McLaughlin Media & Communication Solutions. Community members are encouraged to put pen to paper and share their stories, particularly farmers and descendants involved in the iconic fruit displays.

Entrants are invited to contribute to a special 120-year heritage fruit display, celebrating the legacy of the 1970s and beyond.

The popular Makers Tent also returns, thanks to the support of Whites IGA. Showcasing local food, crafts, design, and art initiatives, the space is already filling quickly with new exhibitors eager to share their talents. From the Spotlight display to emerging creatives, the Makers Tent will be a vibrant hub of innovation and community spirit.

Schedules and entry details are now available online, or you can contact the Show team directly for more information.
