Who do you know that goes Above & Beyond?

Nominations for the inaugural 2026 Above & Beyond Awards are now open. The new initiative, lunched by Nicklin MP Marty Hunt,  will recognise the individuals, groups and businesses who are quietly making a real difference across our community.

Mr Hunt said every day, there were people going the extra mile without seeking recognition. “Supporting neighbours, mentoring young people, caring for others, protecting the environment, strengthening community connections and helping make our region such a great place to live,” he said.

He said the Above & Beyond Awards were about shining a light on those stories and celebrating the people and organisations who make our community stronger.

“I encourage you to nominate someone deserving of recognition, whether it’s a community-minded business, a dedicated volunteer, a local mentor, an inspiring young person, a great neighbour or a group making a positive impact behind the scenes.”

Nominations only take a few minutes, and the window won’t stay open for long • closing on June 26.

Award categories include:

• Young Achiever of the Year
• Community-minded Business of the Year
• Community Spirit & Collaboration Award
• Wellbeing Provider of the Year
• Nightingale Award
• Education or Skills Provider of the Year
• Excellence in Prevention
• Supporter of the Year
• Environmental Leadership Award
• Agricultural & Rural Innovation Award
• The Great Neighbour Award

Mr Hunt said he looked forward to reading the nominations and “celebrating our incredible finalists” at a special awards night on 15 August.
