Maleny’s Maple Street transformed into a lively celebration of creativity on Saturday night as Arts Alive Maleny returned in spectacular style — undeterred by wet weather.

The street was closed to traffic and illuminated with lanterns, projections and light installations, creating a vibrant atmosphere that drew locals and visitors alike. Live music, roving performances, dance, poetry, puppetry and interactive art filled the evening, alongside packed cafés and buzzing artisan stalls.

Despite the cold, organiser Steve McLeish said the event was a success, showcasing the depth of Maleny’s artistic community and the town’s spirit of resilience and joy. “My heart is full to the brim with pride for the Maleny Community,” he said. “Thank you so much to all the incredible performers and helpers who shone brightly for all to see. Maleny is a special place with very special people.’
