Linda takes the stress out of everyday technology
Business Feature: At Home Technology Help with Linda
Technology is changing quickly, and keeping up isn’t always easy. New devices, confusing online services and increasingly sophisticated scams can leave people unsure where to start or who to ask for help.
That’s where Linda Gröbel steps in. With a professional background in technology consulting and cybersecurity, Linda brings this experience directly into people’s homes across the Sunshine Coast and the Hinterland.
Through At Home Technology Help with Linda, she provides patient, one-on-one support, solving everyday technology problems without the jargon, rush or embarrassment that can come with asking for help.
Linda wants to use her knowledge in a way that makes a direct difference to people’s lives. “So much of everyday life happens through technology now. When you can’t access something, set something up or understand how it works, you can lose your independence,” Linda said. “I want to change that. I want people to feel confident and independent, but also connected – to their family, their community and the things they need in everyday life.”
‘There really is no such thing as a silly question’
“People can feel embarrassed because they think they should already know how to do something,” Linda said.
“But there really is no such thing as a silly question. If technology is stopping you from doing something you need or want to do, then it is worth asking for help.”
That philosophy shapes the way Linda works. Rather than simply taking over a device and fixing the problem, she works alongside her clients, explaining things step by step in straightforward language. Clients stay in control of their devices and passwords, and can make notes to refer back to later.
Linda offers help with a wide range of technology needs. This could be setting up a new phone or tablet, transferring photos, getting a printer or Smart TV working, sorting out Wi-Fi, navigating myID, or simply figuring out something that has been causing frustration for weeks.
Her cybersecurity experience also shapes another important part of her work: helping people protect themselves from scams.
Linda delivers practical scam-awareness and online-safety talks for retirement villages and community groups across the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland, helping residents recognise scams, understand emerging threats and knowing what to do when something doesn’t feel right.
“I hear so many stories from people in our local communities who have been targeted by scams,” Linda said. “There can be a lot of shame around it, but it isn’t about being good or bad with technology. These scams are incredibly convincing. The more openly we talk about them, the better we can protect each other. It’s about coming together as a community and looking out for one another.”
