Award winning pasta available at local IGA stores
Emmanuel Beyle “our products are for those who are gluten free, but also enjoy beautiful pasta dishes.”
Nambour based Emmanuel Beylet is a third-generation chef who grew up and trained in Grasse, France.
“I learnt a lot about food and cookery from my French grandfather, Pépé Leon, who started working in kitchens at the very age of 14, and the Italian side of my family where food always brought the large family together,” he said.
Since starting Pépé León's Kitchen, Emmanuel has won awards for his pastas, and has featured on the locavore postcast hosted by local business woman, Roz White.
“Pépé Léon's Kitchen has focussed on bringing the best of my family recipes and adapting them to gluten free without compromising on quality and flavours,” Emmanuel said.
“Pasta is the main focus for now but we are always working on creating more products that gluten-free so that people can eat safely and those who are not restricted to a gluten-free diet can enjoy them as well.”
Emmanuel has obviously struck on a winning formula as his range of products have recently been recognised at the Sydney Royal Food Show.
“Four of my most popular gluten free products, the Potato Gnocchi, Pappardelle, Linguine and Casarecce have received Gold awards and the Casarecce was also Champion in it’s category,” he said.
“This is extremely gratifying, and it is also great news for those who are gluten free, but also enjoy beautiful pasta dishes.”
The Pépé Leon range is available at White’s IGA stores, long time supporters of local fresh food producers and suppliers.
