On Thursday the 30th of October, the Nambour Town Square Market shared the CBD space with a Breast Cancer Morning Tea, hosted by Nambour business woman, Catherine Grayson, and Jenny McKay.
“The idea came about during the recent Sconetime event that was held in the town square, and with only a couple of weeks to pull it together, we made it happen,” Catherine said.
With guests dressed in pink, the town square was abuzz. There was live music, guest speakers who shared their stories about their experiences with cancer, and a fabulous morning tea featuring cupcakes adorned with edible images from SweetInk Images.
“We have some amazing businesses in our town, who donated prizes for the raffle,” Catherine said.
“I would like to acknowledge and thank Uptown Hair Studio, Hammond Optometry, Marty Hunt, A1 Beauty Hub, Amaroo Day Spa, Nextra News Nambour Plaza, Katrina from Scents by Treeze for her beautiful wax candles, and Sandra from Sandeeze Cakes. Your generosity made our fundraising possible.
“Together we raised just over $700 to help raise awareness and support research for National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“A special thanks to our guest speakers and the local ladies who courageously shared their personal stories, your words touched so many hearts,” she said.
“And finally, a heartfelt thank you also to the Nambour Town Square Market & Jenny Mckay and her friends for helping organise this event, and to the Nambour Chamber of Commerce and I Am Nambour for their ongoing support in building community connections.
“Together, we turned a small idea into a meaningful event filled with community, kindness, and heart.”
