Queen Street to celebrate Buy Local Day in true Suzie style

Queen Street will come alive with music, food, fashion and good old-fashioned community spirit on Saturday, June 27, as local traders celebrate Buy Local Day alongside a special milestone for LDL Boutique.

Owner Suzanne King is marking one and a half years since opening her Queen Street fashion emporium, which she describes as her “little happy place”.

“My dream is now my reality,” Suzie said. “Without the community, I wouldn’t be standing here with a full heart. I’m so very happy, grateful and thankful, and I’d like to celebrate with my people.”

LDL Boutique opened on January 14, 2025. “The stars aligned and my emporium was created,” she said. “It’s an exciting time for me, as my dream of finally having my little happy place came true.”

To celebrate Buy Local Day, Suzie has joined forces with other Nambour businesses to offer eight gift vouchers. Customers who spend $25 or more at LDL Boutique will go into the draw to win vouchers from Uptown Hair Studio, Jampa’s Spirit of Tibet, Sweets on Nambour, Queen Street Butcher, Crystal Realm, Blackcat Piercing, Queens House Tattoo Studio and Events Cinemas.

There will also be free coffee giveaways from Lauren and Jake at Bite-Size Bliss. Suzie said the day would be about more than shopping.

“Come stroll down Queen Street, where community street vibes are alive,” she said. The celebration will include buskers playing folk, jazz and blues, face painting with Andriana, $10 Tibetan street food with Jampa, fashion at LDL Boutique, crystals with Pam at Crystal Realm, jewellery from Michael at Queen Street Jewellers, flowers from Jenny at Nambour Florist, wine and tapas at Sweets, and plenty more from nearby traders.

“In true Suzie style, we skipped the one-year celebration and we’re jumping straight into the one-and-a-half-year celebration,” she said.

“Come down on June 27, share some food, have a laugh and a chat, listen to some funky tunes and buy yourself something new.” Suzie said the message was simple.

“Buy local, support local, and make shopping local an everyday choice,” she said.

“On Queen Street, we’ve got you – good old-fashioned chit-chat and community coming together, where the vibes are always high and everyone is welcome.”

• Buy Local Day and LDL Boutique’s celebration will be held on Queen Street, Nambour, on Saturday, June 27, from 9am to 5pm.
