Redevelopment of C Square running on budget and on schedule
A $21.5 million vote of confidence in Nambour’s town centre is gathering momentum, with developers confirming the C Square redevelopment is on schedule and on budget.
Sandran Managing Director and owner of C Square Will Phillips visited the site last week, meeting with local leaders, Sunshine Coast Council’s Economic Development team, Mayor Rosanna Natoli, Cr David Law and Cr Joe Natoli to discuss progress and broader CBD development concepts.
Mr Phillips said the $21.5m project was running on schedule and on budget.
Mr Phillips and C Square property manager Jon Dale from Colliers also met with prospective future tenants, as interest grows in the upgraded precinct.
“This is great news for the Nambour CBD,” said Nambour Groups Chair Rhonda Billett. “I know a lot of the community are very curious at this time to know who will be moving into the $21.5 million dollar C Square precinct upgrade once it is completed. After hearing from Will and Jon and personally chatting to a few interested business owners & possible tenants who want to expand in Nambour, it’s obvious to me, we are in very professional and excellent hands for the future of the Nambour CBD.
“Professionals like Will Phillips and Jon Dale do this for a living, every day. They know our town well. They understand the good and the not so good aspects and are certainly doing their bit to elevate Nambour, the Sunshine Coast’s original CBD.”
As part of the redevelopment, the entire back section of the landmark site will be repainted and refreshed, with Sandran investing in street beautification on both the Currie St and Civic Way sides.
Ms Billett said the timing aligned with stages 1a and 1b of the Nambour Place Plan, including planned CBD beautification works along Mill Street.
Civic Way, a major entry point into the CBD and home to the bus interchange, taxi rank and train station, was also identified as a priority.
“Our Nambour station also is one of the closest heavy rail stations to the Maroochydore CBD,” Ms Billett said. “It deserves a little bit of attention and a tidy up, based purely on its importance.
“My conversations with surrounding properties like the Nambour Tramway Company, DTMR, Marty Hunt’s office and Sunshine Coast Council, as well as the Nambour Chamber of Commerce have all been positive.
“We are going in the right direction with this precinct and we will get this done for the hinterland community in 2026.
“The precinct may even be a part of our Nambour Big Spring Clean for 2026 also, so everyone can do their bit for a brighter Nambour.”
