Collectorama Fair back to full strength with treasures for all tastes in 2026

Nambour’s much loved Collectorama Fair has changed hands and new owner Celia Bonica is excited to continue the tradition of hosting all things vintage, collectable and antique at the Nambour Showgrounds next month. Celia takes over the reins from the Fair’s founders, Tom and Laurie Wall.

“I have been a dealer since 2008 and have personally had stalls at Collectorama on and off for 17 years,” Celia said.

“I have owned and operated other collectable fairs and a shop in Brisbane for many years and when the opportunity came up to take on Collectorama, it seemed like a natural extension of what I have been doing for a long time.”

A deep love of vintage and a desire to see beautiful items from the past find new homes and appreciation is the driving force for Celia, who can trade at up to 15 fairs a year, as well as her Camp Hill shop, Kitty’s Vintage Kitsch, a vintage jewellery shop specialising in antique gold and Victoriana, and quality sterling silver.

“I don’t want to see the stylishness, craftsmanship and innovation of the past lost,” said Celia.

“There is such beauty to the designs of the past and I want to keep it alive for future generations. As well, I think there is a real move now to upcycle and recycle and I think to encourage this is a wonderful thing. It keeps people out of a throw away mentality.”

With the use of Social Media to promote her various businesses, Celia is able to reach younger audiences and is quick to reassure treasure hunters that there are still exceptional finds to be made.

“Collectorama is renowned for its wealth of unexpected finds,” she said. “In recent years a dealer I know bought a box of what appeared to be worthless bottles, and amongst them was a rare bottle that he sold for $20,ooo. This is the kind of experience that makes Collectorama even more exciting.”

Collectorama is back at full strength, with four fairs this year.

The first will be held on Saturday, March 7 at the Nambour Showgrounds. Gates open at 7am, entry is $8 cash per person, children’s entry is free.
