Council urge young residents in Palmwoods to have a say

Sunshine Coast Regional Council revealed the draft masterplan for Palmwoods at recent workshops held in the town. The Placemaker team have immersed themselves into the Palmwoods community running a series of workshops, surveys, interviews and focus groups to plan work for the town square.  The main objectives identified were to develop a new town square as the civic heart in Palmwoods, provide traffic calming and safe pedestrian facilities, connect retail precincts of Margaret, Main and Church streets. A need to develop street scaping, outdoor seating and dinning opportunities using an infrastructure palette reflecting Palmwoods unique character was also established. Community response to the plan has been reasonably positive, however council are seeking feedback from young people living in Palmwoods. SCRC Community Development Officer Kim Price said it is  important the engagement process reflects all members of the Palmwoods community and we would be extremely grateful for residents to encourage young people living in Palmwoods to participate. If you are aged 12 to 25 years and live in Palmwoods, we want to know what YOU think! You can help Sunshine Coast Council to plan and design the future Palmwoods Town Square by completing a simple online survey.Complete the survey and you could win 1 of 4 $50 JB Hi-Fi Vouchers.
