Forest Heart ecoNursery celebrates 10 years

Karen and Brea Shaw

Maleny’s Forest Heart ecoNursery is turning 10 this September, and founders, Spencer and Karen Shaw and their daughter Brea, are excited to celebrate this milestone.

“We will be celebrating with our wonderful community of loyal customers and friends who have supported us along the way,” Karen said.

The Shaw family are passionate about restoring native vegetation and ecosystems across the wider landscape, and educating others along the way.

“The focus of Forest Heart ecoNursery is to work directly with the landholder and the wider community to restore, appreciate, learn about and work with our amazing local biodiversity through education and the practical hands-on work of gardening, revegetation and bush regeneration,” Spencer explained.

Over the past decade, Forest Heart has grown into more than a nursery – it has become a place for people to connect with native plants, learn about our environment, and share in the joy of creating gardens that support local biodiversity.

You can join in on Saturday 27th September for a special day of celebration at the nursery.

“The day will include free activities for kids, inspiring talks on gardening with natives, giveaways, and the drawing of our big birthday prize draw. And of course, no birthday is complete without cake to share!,” Karen said.

“We’d love for you to come and celebrate this milestone with us and be part of our continuing journey to grow a greener future together.

Forest Heart ecoNursery is at 20 Coral Street, Maleny
