Nicklin celebrates investment in community groups

Member for Nicklin Marty Hunt has announced the latest community groups to benefit from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF), with local organisations to share in $172,163 worth of grants.

The latest round (Round 123) delivers a welcome boost to groups across Nambour and the Sunshine Coast hinterland, with funding helping to upgrade local facilities, support grassroots sporting clubs and provide essential services.

Mr Hunt said the grants would benefit community groups that have faced challenges when budgets have been stretched by cost-of-living increases.

“Every dollar invested by the Crisafulli Government through the GCBF goes directly to the heart of our communities, and I’m proud to be able to support local

organisations with this vital funding,” Mr Hunt said.

“Nambour Bowls Club, which was affected by flooding events earlier this year, will be able to upgrade their cool room, and Palmwoods Tennis Club will be able to replace their fence to the tune of $18,560.

“The next round is closing soon and it’s a Super Round, so if you’re part of a local organisation in need of a major funding boost for facility improvements or substantial equipment purchases, make sure you get your application in before 18 July.”

Local community groups receiving funding this round include:
• Nambour Bowls Club - $35,000 to upgrade cool room
• Nambour District Horse & Pony Club - $31,781 to purchase show jumping equipment.
• Nambour Golf Club - $32,474 for facility upgrades.
• Oz Assist - $4,348 for the purchase of IT Equipment.
• Palmwoods Tennis Club – $18,560 to replace fences.
• Cooroy Future Group - $35,000 to install a kiln and ventilation.

Applications for the next Super Round of the GCBF, offering grants of up to $100,000, are now open and close 18 July 2025.
