For most people, arranging a funeral is a responsibility they may face only once or twice in their lifetime. For Gregson & Weight Funeral Directors, however, supporting families through this important journey has been their vocation for more than five decades.
Established on the Sunshine Coast in 1972, Gregson & Weight is the region’s longest-serving funeral director, having assisted more than 45,000 families during their time of need.
As fully accredited members of Funerals Australia, the company is recognised for its quality facilities, highly trained professional staff and commitment to exceptional service and has earned a reputation as a leader in the Queensland funeral industry.
“Meaningful and memorable funerals don’t happen by chance,” said General Manager Luke Gregson. “They require a dedicated team of experienced professionals, supported by the right facilities and resources, to bring each family’s wishes to life while helping to ease the burden during a difficult time.”
Community engagement remains central to the organisation’s values, with the company encouraging open conversations around end-of-life planning through its annual “Dying to Know Open Day.” This year the annual event will be held on Saturday August 8 at 159 Wises Road, Buderim.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the facilities, view informative displays, meet exhibitors and gain a better understanding of the services available. Their historic 1923 restored Dodge hearse will also be on show.
Displays will include organisations such as Palliative Care Queensland, Sunshine Coast Cemeteries, RSL Queensland, Voluntary Assisted Dying, Ambulance Wish QLD and Funeral Bond providers, alongside a live radio broadcast from 104.9 Sunshine FM radio.
No bookings or tickets are required and the event will run from 8.00am to 12 noon.
