Kim Kirkman’s final concert for 2025 at St George’s Church

Kim Kirkman will conduct his Inspiration and Caloundra Community Choirs in the final concert of the St George’s-in-the-Hills concert series for 2025 in St George’s Church, 2 Walker Drive Maleny on Sunday December 14.

Committee Chair, Susan Myring has explained the theme of the concert.

“Kim has chosen ‘that special Christmas feeling’ for his theme this year, but we always feel the last concert in our annual series always gets us into the mood for Christmas, and our audiences really have a lot of fun.

“This year will be a mix of traditional, with some 40s and more contemporary Christmas songs we all love, and included will be our usual audience sing-along,” she said.

Traditional tunes will include the well-loved, All through the Night, sung by the massed choirs, O holy night sung by Kim, with Barrie and Pam Woods; and Joy to the world and O come all ye faithful with audience participation. Word sheets will be provided.

Paige Allen, Darren Heske and Kim will sing the 40s hit Baby it’s cold outside, Sonja and Darren Blue Christmas, and you can have a laugh with an old favourite All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth.

Popular performer Trish Bagshaw will be giving you Tom Lehrer’s Christmas Carol, Andy Beck will be represented by Sleigh ride and Sweet silent night, sung by the choirs, and among other popular numbers you will hear Twas the night before Christmas.

The audience will get a special treat when Kim puts down his baton and takes up the bow for a selection of Nutcracker piece for two violins with Nelson Mustard. Tickets are $25 and may be obtained from humanitix.com.au or purchased at the door, either by cash or card.

The concert starts at 2pm so patrons are asked to be early as it is always very popular, and seats are limited in the church.

There will be a raffle of a hamper of Christmas goodies that will be drawn in the hall after the performance, when Christmas refreshments will be available free with your ticket.
