‘Little badge, big impact’: Legacy needs your support

Wear a Legacy badge from Sunday, August 31 to Saturday, September 6.

From Sunday, August 31 to Saturday, September 6, Sunshine Coast residents and visitors will have the chance to show their support by wearing a Legacy badge and helping raise funds for the families of veterans.

On Monday 25th August 2025 Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli will launch this year’s campaign – “Little badge big impact”.

Legacy Week began in 1940, helping to raise awareness, and funds, for the families of Australian Defence Force men and women who’ve lost their lives or have ongoing health issues from their service.

Legacy delivers personal, long-lasting help to families accessing pensions and entitlements and offering companionship and social connection, Legacy is there when it matters most. 112 years on our Sunshine Coast Legacy Group continues to support over 500 Legacy beneficiaries which includes widows, children and people with a disability through vital support and advocacy during challenging times.

The Legacy Badge is a special emblem symbolising our Nation’s greatest values of mateship, compassion and fairness. Sunshine Coast Legacy Group Legatees and volunteers will be selling badges and merchandise at 10 sites across the Sunshine Coast, from Noosa in the North to Caloundra in the South, and west to Nambour and Mapleton.
