Window treatments combine style, comfort and control

Transforming a house into a home begins at the windows, where the right fixtures and furnishings can balance light control, security, energy efficiency and aesthetic harmony to put your unique stamp on your property.

From sleek motorized blinds to flowing sheer curtains, modern window treatments redefine interior spaces by combining smart functionality with visual design and technology. “I am all about user friendly automation and technology,” said Made To Shade’s Steve Burke.

“Because if it is not easy to use, you won’t use it.”

Prior to establishing Made To Shade, Steve spent many years working in handyman services and has become adept at problem solving and finding solutions for intricate, complex, or just flat out difficult jobs.

“I am very particular about how I want work to be done, and my experience in handyman work has put me in good stead to move across into what I do now,” he said.

Made To Shade supplies and installs blinds, awnings, window furnishings, plantation shutters, wardrobes and sliding doors, and security screens.

“The advances in push button automation are really exciting and allow for people to get the most out of their window furnishings,” Steve said.

“Now you can adjust your blinds or curtains from anywhere, at the push of a button, or set up preferred timers. This allows you to improve the energy efficiency of your home, simply by drawing the curtains to keep in the warmth, or block the heat of the summer sun.

“The knock on effect is that you can reduce your cooling and heating costs, and protect your carpets and furniture. And it’s great for people who want to program their curtains to open a little later and have a sleep in on a Sunday morning,” he laughed.

Made To Shade supports local Sunshine Coast companies, with all awnings, curtains, roller blinds and security screens manufactured on the coast.

“These are world class Australian companies who design and manufacture premium products, designed for Australian conditions. And it is exciting to bring these products to the Sunshine Coast market.”
