Clubhouse milestone for Maleny Golf Club
Maleny Golf Club’s new $1.7 million clubhouse is being lifted into place this week, marking a major milestone in the club’s long-running development on the Maleny Community Precinct.
Seven large modular sections of the new building were craned onto pre-prepared footings overlooking the 18th green on Monday and Tuesday (April 27 & 28).
The lift is being carried out by Sunshine Coast builder Saltair Modular using a 150-tonne lift capacity crane.
The new clubhouse at 15 Porter’s Lane, North Maleny, is expected to be operational by mid-2026 and will complement the club’s award-winning 18-hole course in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Maleny Golf Club president Doug Evans said the milestone reflected careful planning and the work of the club’s on-site management team.
“This is a significant undertaking and our team has done a great job completing this crucial stage of works efficiently and with minimal disruption to members, patrons and day-to-day golf operations,” Mr Evans said.
The project comes about 26 years after the club’s inception and more than a decade after its first nine holes opened in 2015.
Since then, the club has operated from temporary facilities created from two shipping containers, which will be removed once the new clubhouse is fully operational.
Member donations have allowed the club to expand the building’s original footprint from 422 to 483 square metres by adding a seventh module now, rather than later as previously planned.
Mr Evans said the extra $200,000 investment would help prepare the clubhouse for future demand. “The extra $200,000 being invested will future-proof the clubhouse for at least the next 10-to-15 years and avoid inevitable disruption to extend the building later at far greater cost,” he said.
The new clubhouse will also provide Maleny with an added bookable The modular design has allowed for off-site prefabrication and rapid erection, with the crane lift marking the next chapter in the club’s growth
