Maleny Wedding Festival enters its next chapter
The Maleny Wedding Festival is entering its next chapter, with experienced event organisers invited to submit proposals to deliver the much-loved Sunshine Coast Hinterland event in 2027.
Hinterland Tourism Sunshine Coast Inc. (HTSC) on Saturday (July 25, 2026) released a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking an organisation with the experience, creativity and commercial capability to deliver the Festival on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January 2027.
The Maleny Wedding Festival has become a recognised showcase for the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’s thriving wedding industry, attracting engaged couples while highlighting the region’s exceptional wedding venues, accommodation providers, florists, photographers, celebrants, caterers and other local businesses.
HTSC President Wayne Parcell PSM said the Association was seeking proposals from organisations capable of building on the Festival’s established reputation while bringing fresh ideas and strong event management expertise.
“The Maleny Wedding Festival already enjoys an excellent reputation and a loyal following. This is not about reinventing the Festival—it’s about finding the right organisation to lead its next chapter.”
“We want to see the Festival continue to grow as a showcase for our region’s outstanding wedding industry and as an event that attracts visitors to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.”
Mr Parcell said the Festival played an important role in promoting the Sunshine Coast Hinterland as one of Queensland’s premier wedding destinations.
“Every wedding brings visitors, accommodation bookings, dining, transport and local spending. The Festival provides an outstanding opportunity to showcase the quality and diversity of our local wedding industry while strengthening the visitor economy.”
HTSC is inviting proposals from experienced event management companies, destination marketing organisations, tourism operators, event producers and other suitably qualified organisations with the capability to deliver a high-quality regional event.
Interested organisations wishing to submit a proposal may obtain a copy of the Request for Proposal by writing to the: Secretary Hinterland Tourism Sunshine Coast Inc. secretary@hinterlandtourism.com.au. Submissions close at 5.00 pm on Friday, 21 August 2026. Following evaluation of submissions, HTSC expects to appoint the successful proponent during the first week of September 2026, allowing planning to commence for the Maleny Wedding Festival on 16 and 17 January 2027.rs and community members are being urged to get behind a Sunshine Coast charity golf event that helps people of all abilities build confidence, friendships and employment pathways.
