Aurora Borealis inspires local author’s latest novel

Mapleton children’s author, Marg Gibbs.

Mapleton children’s author, Marg Gibbs, remembers her journey to Norway to see the shimmering Aurora Borealis.

Three years later, with a new middle-grade book out, The Glow in Her Hands, is a coming-of-age story set in both Norway and Australia. It’s about loss, friendship, family changes and a mystical stone that Elin Becken receives while visiting Tromso, in Norway. There’s a thrilling husky ride, a museum theft, and a growing friendship that helps her move forward.

Marg’s book launch will be held Saturday, February 21 at the Nambour Historical Museum, in Mitchell Street, Nambour at 10.30am. The author will speak with award-winning author Aleesah Darlison, who will serve as MC. The launch is free.
