With a background in journalism, media relations, social management and leading corporate communication teams, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’s Chris McLoughlin is known for his high-level strategic advice, collaborative stakeholder engagement and executing projects on short time scales.
“Clear and concise communication provides an essential narrative that is a strategic part of achieving the overall goals of any business or organisation,” Chris said.
Chris has spent decades in news media as well as government and corporate communication, and during the COVID-19 response, he held the Director of Communication and Corporate Affairs role with the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
“At the time, I had responsibility for the health service’s internal and external communication, ensuring critical information was provided to the public, staff and all stakeholders throughout the crisis,” he said.
In his final health role, Chris served as a principal strategic communications advisor with Queensland Health’s head office. He oversaw the launch of its news room website and managed key stakeholder relationships across health services, external organisations and the Minister’s office.
Chris has also worked with not-for-profits, small businesses, community leaders and local groups offering advice and assistance in terms of media, public relations, social media, marketing and community engagement.
“After years of delivering in complex corporate environments, I launched McLoughlin Media and Communication Solutions to provide tailored services suitable to individuals, businesses and organisations of all sizes,” Chris said.
“My wife has been a sole trader and business owner for years, while I have been involved in community groups and alongside small businesses. So our family has that knowledge of the challenges and passion for helping organisations that are the lifeblood of our community.
“It’s rewarding to collaborate with business owners and community groups on their media, socials and general messaging to ensure that communications are strategic and effective.
