Mini trains in Nambour on August 23

The mini trains will be running at Mini Rail Park, 1 Florence Street (off Hospital Road), Nambour on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

“The railway has to be the best value family day out on the Sunshine Coast, " said a club spokesman.

There is plenty of parking just 100 metres away at the QR railway station car park. The trains will start at 10am and run until 2.00pm (locos permitting), with steam, battery and petrol locomotives hauling the trains around 1 km of tracks.

Visitors can ride on just one train or try riding on every one of the different trains.

The very best value tickets are the passes with 6 rides for $15.00 or 20 rides for $50. Or it is $3 for 1 ride. Tthe passes have no expiry date and the railway has EFPOS available.

Children aged 4 years and under ride free when travelling with a fare paying adult.

Enclosed shoes must be worn to ride on the trains so no thongs or footwear where the toes peep out or foot is exposed.

There will be a sausage sizzle and cold drinks available for purchase on the day.

“A reminder that these are miniature trains and our locos do have weight limits as to the load they can haul, so we often cannot carry all of your group on one train,” the spokesman said.

“We also apologise if there is a long wait to board our trains but we operate as Safety First so sometimes delays may happen. We are no different to any other theme park and unfortunately delays do occur.”
