This year's Muscle on the Mountain Maleny Show & Shine day was a huge success, beating all previous records for cars on show, attendance and money raised.
Organised and hosted by the Apex Club of Maleny each year to help raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and other local community groups and charities, the event has grown in popularity as car lovers from all around the coast converge on Maleny to appreciate the 'muscle' on display.
"The whole event this year has been an extraordinary success and we are over the moon," said Apex Club spokesman, Sam James.
"We had about 2,500 people through the gate and over 600 show cars. This year, we also added more dedicated entertainment and attractions for the kids, which made it a great budget friendly family day. Child entertainment is something we hope to add to further next year.
"As well as providing the community with an great event, the other purpose of Muscle on the Mountain is to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and to support as many other local community organisations as we can, and we are thrilled to report that this year the event raised just over $21,000, which is $10,000 more than last year. Now we are looking forward to 2026 to see if we can improve on that again.
"We would like to thank all of the tireless volunteers who pitched in before, during and after the day, and our local sponsors. And obviously, we would like to thank the people who shared their cars with our visitors and the people who came along and enjoyed the day. This kind of display of community spirit is what makes events of this type possible."
