Chamber catch-up highlights Nambour investment
The October Nambour Chamber of Commerce Coffee Catchup was held at Casa Ceramica in Currie Street, bringing together local business owners, community leaders and stakeholders to celebrate progress and opportunity in Nambour.
Architect and developer Rod Constantinides presented his long-awaited mixed-use development at the corner of Bury and Currie streets – a 162-unit build-to-rent residential project featuring a bathhouse and commercial tenancies.
After five years navigating planning approvals and infrastructure challenges, demolition has commenced, with an anticipated 18-month construction timeline.
Casa Ceramica owners Silvina Alvarez and Daniel Evans welcomed attendees to their Nambour showroom, sharing the story of their tile and natural stone business, which sources products from across the globe and has been serving the Sunshine Coast for nearly a decade.
State Member Marty Hunt highlighted the opening of the Everyday Foundation’s new Currie Street premises, made possible through a $1 million State Government investment, providing expanded community services for some of Nambour’s most vulnerable residents.
Daneyl Regan from Mix Taste Eat, a hands-on cooking school in Currie Street, thanked the Chamber and community for their support following flood damage and outlined opportunities for workplace team building and business collaborations.
The Business of the Month award was presented to Dave Harris and Tamara Brown of Heretics Haven, recognised for their investment in restoring Chadwick’s Chambers and their compassionate support of the local community and charities.
Additional announcements included the StuffIt Student Film Festival screening in Pomona on October 3 and the launch of a local business directory magnet initiative coordinated by Megan Manley of Property Lane Realty.
