Kindy grant helps keep little learners thriving in Nambour
Brookes Street Nambour Community Kindergarten will use a $5,040 grant to replace essential white goods and tackle maintenance in its 58-year-old building – small fixes that will make a big difference to local families.
At the Nambour Community Foundation Grants Ceremony at Nambour RSL on October 21, spokesperson Kim Palmer said the non-profit service relied on community support to keep its much-loved centre safe, welcoming and fit-for-purpose. “We’ve been operating in Nambour for 58 years,” Ms Palmer said. “To be able to upgrade our facilities and resources, we do rely on grants – we are really grateful for this opportunity and ongoing support.”
The kindy is known for meeting families where they are, providing a nurturing start for children who often need that extra bit of wrap-around care. The new funding will go directly to replacing aging appliances and addressing maintenance in a building that has served generations of Nambour kids.
Event MC Caroline Hutchinson OAM praised the centre’s “grass-roots work” with children who benefit most from quality early learning. That strong community backing is part of what makes the kindergarten a local favourite with parents and educators working together so little learners can flourish.
The grant was part of more than $72,000 distributed to 13 local groups and ensures the kindy can focus on what matters: giving children a safe, stimulating environment to play, learn and grow in Nambour.
