Nambour Community Foundation to host Grants Writing Workshop and launch 2026 grants round
Last year’s Nambour Community Foundation grants recipients.
The Nambour Community Foundation will host a free Grants Writing Workshop on Wednesday 20 May from 5–6pm at the Nambour Tramway Terminus in Mill Street, helping local community groups prepare strong applications ahead of the 2026 Grants Round opening 1 June to 31 July.
Nambour Community Foundation Board Chair Al Upton said the workshop is designed to empower local organisations to access funding that supports their community initiatives.
“This event is about giving local groups the tools and confidence to tell their stories and strengthen their grant applications,” Mr Upton said.
“By supporting community organisations to apply for grants, we’re investing in the wellbeing and future of Nambour. The more groups we can help to access funding, the greater the positive impact across our region.”
Founded in 2016 by Sundale Limited, the Nambour Community Foundation, now in its 10th year has proudly distributed more than $467,000 in grants to 100 local groups in the Nambour community and surrounds. The Foundation’s goal is to continue growing and sustaining its annual giving program, ensuring long-term support for local initiatives.
“Our success is built on the generosity of our founding organisation, Sundale Limited, whose $1 million contribution established the Foundation, and the ongoing support of local corporate partners including Ken Mills Toyota, Nambour RSL, Ray White Nambour, Butler McDermott and other local donors,” Mr Upton said.
Ken Mills Toyota Dealer Principal Brett Mills said the Foundation plays a vital role in connecting local businesses with community groups that make a real difference.
“We love supporting local groups within the community that has supported us for so many years,” Mr Mills said.
“The Nambour Community Foundation allows us to give back in meaningful ways and reach smaller organisations whose work creates a big and lasting impact.”
Nambour RSL Club CEO Suzanne Long said the Foundation’s grants program strengthens the community’s sense of connection and pride.
“Nambour has such a strong community spirit, and being part of initiatives that directly help local families and organisations is incredibly rewarding,” Ms Long said.
“It’s about creating opportunities, connection, and pride in our community — and seeing the difference our collective efforts make.”
Ray White Nambour Selling Principal Matt O’Grady said supporting the Foundation ensures funds go directly to those who need them most.
“We’re proud to partner with the Nambour Community Foundation because the money we donate goes straight to local groups making a difference,” Mr O’Grady said. “It’s about helping kids, families, and community members realise there are people who care and want to see them succeed.”
