Sunshine Coast Railway Modellers Society representative Edward accepts a $6,000 grant to help restore flood-damaged passenger carriages and develop new riding stock.
Nambour's miniature railway enthusiasts have received a $6,000 boost to help repair damage caused by flooding earlier this year.
The Sunshine Coast Railway Modellers Society, based in Florence Street beside Petrie Creek, suffered extensive damage when floodwaters completely submerged its passenger carriages.
Society representative Edward told the Nambour Community Foundation's anniversary gathering that repairs were needed to wheel bearings, seating and other components.
The grant, made possible by an anonymous donor, will also help the club develop a new style of passenger carriage.
The popular miniature railway operates on the fourth Sunday of each month, offering rides for everyone from young children to older residents.
Despite the flood damage, the railway has resumed operations.
