Nambour Heights bowlers raise funds for Cittamani Hospice
Nambour Heights Bowls Club has again backed one of the region’s most valued community services, donating proceeds from its weekly Sunday Arvo chook run to Cittamani Hospice.
The social competition, which began in 2017, has grown into a reliable fundraiser and a quiet engine for community spirit at the Heights. For a $2 entry fee, members and visitors play for a chicken and help support local charities through the event’s raffle.
Club president Ron Price said the chook run has delivered strong results over the past eight years, attracting new faces to the club and encouraging many to take up the sport. It has also raised steady funds for charities, with Cittamani Hospice a regular beneficiary.
The photo shows the Chooksters presenting their latest donation to Cittamani Hospice Services, a community-based organisation providing professional, compassionate in-home care across the Sunshine Coast. The club has supported the hospice for many years.
Mr Price said the ongoing enthusiasm of past and present coordinators has been central to the event’s success and its ability to keep giving back.
