All aboard for budget-friendly family fun at Nambour’s Mini Rail Park
Looking for a fun, budget-friendly family day out on the Sunshine Coast? Pack up the kids and head down to the Mini Rail Park at 1 Florence Street (off Hospital Road) in Nambour. The popular miniature trains will be running on Sunday, October 25, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, locomotives permitting.
A mix of steam, battery, and petrol-powered miniature engines will pull passenger carriages around nearly 1 km of track. Visitors can hop on a single train or stick around to ride every different engine operating on the day. A classic sausage sizzle and a selection of cold drinks will also be available on-site.
Ticket prices are $3.00 for a single ride, $15.00 for a 6-ride pass, and $50.00 for a 20-ride pass, with passes having no expiry date. Children aged 4 years and under ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. EFTPOS is available at the railway.
For a smooth visit, keep in mind that enclosed shoes must be worn by all passengers. No thongs, sandals, or open-toed shoes of any kind are permitted. Additionally, because these are miniature trains, individual locomotives have strict weight capacities, and operators may need to split large groups across multiple departures. Safety comes first, so patience is appreciated as high visitor numbers can occasionally lead to queue delays. Convenient parking is located just 100 meters away at the QR railway station car park.
