Let’s roll up our sleeves to make Nambour shine

Nambour is set to sparkle this spring, with locals invited to join a town-wide working bee to freshen up the CBD.
The Nambour CBD Big Spring Clean 2025 will be held on Sunday August 31, bringing together families, individuals, business owners, landlords and community groups for a day of teamwork and pride in the town.
“This is about showing pride in where we live,” said I Am Nambour spokesperson Rhonda Billett. “There are a few issues going on in town but we want to get out there and be part of the solution. I think people are ready to shake off winter and do something constructive.”
The clean-up will run from 8am, starting at Lowe Street in Nambour Square, with teams heading to key locations in and around the CBD. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves, a bucket, a hat and water.
Jobs will range from graffiti removal and rubbish collection to debris clearing after recent floods, gurney cleaning, and flower planting. “It’s going to be a mix of hard yakka and a bit of fun,” Ms Billett said. “Every bit we do together will make a difference.”
“It’s always good to be working with Rhonda and the whole team bringing the community together for our town,” said Div 10 Cr David Law.
“I’ll be rolling up my sleeves on the graffiti removal team,” said Nicklin MP Marty Hunt. “Graffiti is something I see every day in town and a concern I hear from many locals. The Big Spring Clean is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together, show pride in Nambour and make a real, visible difference. Big thanks to Rhonda from I Am Nambour and the Nambour Chamber of Commerce for leading this initiative – I’m proud to be part of it and encourage everyone reading this to join in.”
While the event is all about positive action, organisers say it comes at a time when the town has faced its share of challenges — from homelessness concerns to budget disappointments and ongoing safety issues. The Big Spring Clean, they say, is a chance to focus on what can be done right now to lift the town’s appearance and community spirit.
People can donate an hour, a couple of hours, half a day or the full day, with the event wrapping up at 4pm at Club Namba Hotel. Complimentary food platters will be provided in the beer garden, thanks to MP Marty Hunt, with drinks available to purchase from the bar.
The Big Spring Clean is an initiative of I Am Nambour, Nambour Chamber of Commerce and Nambour Tramway Company, with support from Mr Hunt, Cr David Law and Sunshine Coast Council.
“If you love Nambour, we want you there,” Ms Billett said. “It’s time to roll up our sleeves and get our town looking its best.”
