Nambour State College Open Night will be held  30 March 2022 with students and their families invited to the Enrolment Showcase from 3.30pm.

Nambour State College is proud of its rich and long connection with its local community. The independent Prep-Year 12 school has a strong reputation and attracts students from across the Sunshine Coast.

While the College is passionate about nurturing and celebrating every student’s strengths, the school’s consistent success stems from its understanding that success looks different for everyone.

“We recognise and embrace achievements in many different forms here at Nambour State College and that’s why we offer a diverse curriculum and a range of unique and exciting specialist programs that have become renowned for their excellence and high-quality outputs,” said College Principal Anthony Green.

“The education and growth of each and every child at our College is what shapes our teaching and drives us every day to do better. Success for us is about being creative, compassionate, collaborative, engaged, showing leadership, striving for the best and building meaningful relationships.

“We want to support students to excel while nurturing their independence, creativity, compassion, innovation and global citizenship.”

This year, the College welcomed more than 200 Year 7 students and over 40 Prep students and both groups have done a fantastic job of settling into their new learning environment and school routine.

Two of the newest Preppies, Emma and Maverick (pictured), have already been described by their teacher, Mrs Julie Jeckells, as being “beautiful children who are very eager to learn”.

Emma said she wants to “be a good student” while for Maverick, it’s all about “making new friends”.

Meanwhile Year 7 students Hudson Barrett and Marcus Staite (pictured) have had a positive start to high school. Both are enrolled in the Pinnacle Program, an enrichment and excellence program offered by the College. The initiative provides students the opportunity to connect and learn with similarly bright students.

Students are supported and encouraged to grow their skills across six key areas: character, citizenship, collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.

Hudson and Marcus are enjoying being Pinnacle students because — apart from being able to work with like-minded students — their athletic abilities (cricket and soccer) are also being honed through the skills development component of the program.

Being able to seamlessly transition from primary to secondary schooling means students can experience the full range of learning at the College enabling their academic, cultural, social and sporting prowess to grow.

At Nambour State College the education, enrichment and care of every child is aligned with striving for excellence, embracing diversity and fostering a sense of belonging.
