Embrace the game, enjoy the team spirit

Nambour Rugby Union Club, affectionately known as the Toads, is inviting expressions of interest from players across all divisions—Seniors, Juniors, and Women’s—for the upcoming 2025 season. Building on a series of successes in 2024, the club is poised for an even more dynamic year ahead.

With the Rugby World Cup approaching in 2027, now is an excellent time to get involved in the sport, says President Greg Wright.

“Nambour Rugby Union Club offers a supportive environment where players can develop their skills, enjoy the game, and be part of a thriving community. When you join the Nambour Toads you become part of a rugby tradition that values growth, camaraderie, and excellence.”

The club welcomes juniors (Under 8s to Under 15s), U17 Girls 7’s, Senior Men, and Senior Women. Training sessions are held every Tuesday at 4:30pm at the club’s home ground on Laidlaw Road, Woombye.

In 2024, the club celebrated several milestones, including fielding their first Under 8s team, achieving finals appearances across all eligible teams, and boasting a record number of representative players at regional, state, and international levels. The women’s team notably secured their third consecutive premiership, underscoring the club’s commitment to excellence.

Beyond the game, Nambour Rugby Union Club emphasises personal development, teamwork, and community involvement. Players have access to quality coaching, fitness training, and opportunities to participate in various tournaments and social events. The club’s inclusive environment fosters lifelong friendships and a strong sense of belonging.

“At Nambour Rugby, we pride ourselves on being the small family club with big results,” said Greg. “We focus on individual development, teamwork, and building a solid rugby foundation. This approach has seen many of our players progress into representative pathways, including Stingrays, Queensland Country, and Queensland Reds.”

Prospective players and their families are encouraged to visit the club’s official website at www.nambourrugby.com.au for more information and to complete the expression of interest form. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a club that values tradition, community, and the development of its players both on and off the field.
