This morning, Nambour CBD was bustling with activity as Sunshine Coast Foodie, Martin Duncan, and his team of hard working volunteers hosted Sconetime in the midst of the Town Square Markets.
Supported by the Nambour Chamber of Commerce, Sundale and the Sunshine Coast Council, the event featured live music courtesy of Nicklin MP, Marty Hunt, ‘sconeversations’, laughter and of course, scones, jam and cream, and tea served in fine china cups.
Nambour Chamber of Commerce President, Mark Bray said “It was fantastic to see the CBD come to life with colour and fun. People were enjoying themselves and the terrific space we have in the centre of town.
“I want to thank everyone who worked hard at short notice, to make the event happen, including Jemma Slater, from Council’s Economic Development team, Keith Mackay, coordinator of the Town Square Markets, Marty Hunt MP, Martin Duncan and his volunteers, the Sundale team, and the Chamber’s Member Services Officer, Julie Smedley.
“It was also fantastic to see so many local business people tying on an apron and serving up tea and scones, with a smile on their faces. This kind of activation can only be a good thing for our town, and we have plenty of generous and creative people who are willing to get behind initiatives like this and make it happen.”
