Affordable fun, great food & good times at Palmwoods

The food is great at Palmwoods Bowls Club.

Business Feature: Palmwoods Bowls Club

Since 1931, Palmwoods Bowls Club has been a much loved community hub at 1 Nicklin Road. Tucked behind the Kolora Lagoon, it boasts a fully stocked bar, modern diner and a spacious deck overlooking two fully lit greens.

“It is a great family friendly spot to unwind on a Friday afternoon,” said function coordinator, Sue Robertson.

“We change up our menu each season with popular favourites and we work hard to ensure that our pricing is as budget friendly as possible. I think we have shown that you can still get out with the family for a meal and some fun, without breaking the bank.”

From the Friday night ‘Tradie’s Special’ to ‘Friday Fun Night’, Jag the Joker, live music, raffles and barefoot bowls, the Palmwoods Bowls Club has events, food and offerings to appeal to everyone.

“On the first Thursday of each month, the Sunshine Coast Blues Club meets at our club and we always have the most fabulous night of live music,” Sue said.

Live music at family-friendly venue

“The house band plus visiting artists jam the night away and it is definitely one of the highlights of our events calendar.”

The Palmwoods Bowls Club can also cater for birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries and all types of party bookings.

“Your work event can even be bundled with a terrific team-building game of lawn bowls,” said Sue.

“It is wonderful how popular barefoot bowls and lawn bowls have become and how much people of all ages enjoy it. It makes for a very entertaining work Christmas party and we recommend you secure a time slot well in advance. We do our very best to make it a really fun and memorable occasion.”

What’s on the menu

Palmwoods Bowls Club’s menu is packed with crowd-pleasers, perfect for a casual night out. The $16 burgers — beef, chicken or vegetarian — are generous and customisable, while the crispy chicken wings and lemon pepper calamari make ideal starters. Mains like the Black Angus rump steak with chips and salad ($27) and the Fisherman’s Basket ($25) offer classic pub-style value. Kids eat for $12 with ice cream included, and seniors enjoy 10% off when dining in. For a sweet finish, the sticky date pudding with ice cream is a winner.
