There was plenty to celebrate at Palmwoods Indoor Bowling Club on October 27 when much-loved member Pat Hoskins marked her 90th birthday, surrounded by family and bowls friends.
Pat has been a valued member of the club for many years, earning the friendship and affection of her fellow bowlers through her good humour, warm personality and enthusiasm for the game.
Club president Les Mott paid tribute to Pat, who lives at Sundale, on her special day.
“You are not only a great player but also a much-loved friend to your fellow bowlers, who enjoy your company, friendship and good humour,” he said.
Pat’s talents extend well beyond the bowling green. She is also an accomplished craftswoman who enjoys making jewellery, pottery and crocheting, putting her creative skills to good use.
Les said reaching 90 was a wonderful milestone and an opportunity for everyone at the club to acknowledge how much Pat meant to them.
“May your birthday be filled with love, good health and happiness, and may you enjoy many more happy times, wonderful friendships and enjoyable games of bowls.”
Pat credited her long life to staying healthy and active, with golf and bowls playing an important part in keeping her fit and engaged.
