Maleny launches golf coaching partnership with local PGA Pro Paul Stratford

Maleny Golf Club is excited to announce a new partnership with highly respected PGA Professional Paul Stratford who brings more than 25 years of elite coaching experience to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward for the club, with a dual focus on enhancing the performance of current members while creating welcoming, accessible pathways for newcomers - particularly women and juniors.

An array of personal and group programs on offer includes free introductory golf sessions for both ladies and juniors targeting beginners potentially interested in learning to play the game.

Other coaching packages available include individual and group short game clinics and lessons, lessons for beginners, on-course playing lessons and even a Simulator Program offering video analysis, shot tracking and personalised practice plans.

Paul has previously served as Head Professional at Victoria Park Golf Complex. A dedicated coach and father of two elite junior golfers pursuing professional careers, Paul is known for his holistic approach to the game.

“Golf is more than just hitting the ball,” Paul said. “It’s about understanding equipment, fitness, mental resilience, strategy and focusing on the controllable aspects,” Paul said. “I’m excited to bring that philosophy to Maleny and help people of all levels enjoy and improve their game.”

Club President Doug Evans said the coaching partnership eliminated the need for hinterland golfers to travel to the coast for high-quality professional coaching.

"We're not just focused on improving our current members' games - we're committed to opening our doors to the community, especially women and juniors who might have felt golf wasn't for them,” he said.
