Bushcare returns to the Gulung Site
Petrie Creek BushCare News with Norm Morwood
We’ve been allowed back to our BushCare site downstream from Quota Park Nambour after a few months’ of absence due to the other activities in the area. Pictured, above, are Ray and James, two of our wonderful volunteers last month sorting out and removing the weeds from around the native plants that will eventually take over and expand the native animal habitat along Petrie Creek, we’ve been working on here for about 12 years.
If you’d like to join us in these sorts of habitat improving BushCare activities, the next opportunities at our sites are:
• Florabunda Pocket in Woombye, Saturday 04 April (Easter Saturday) Starting at 8am. Meet near the back Rugby oval in Victory Park, Woombye. Come down Laidlaw Rd and turn right through the large wire mesh gates just before the Gymnastics Hall and follow that road till you see us.
• Namba Creek on Saturday 18 April starting at 8am. Access is through the main gate of the Model Rail Park off Florence St Nambour.
To join you’ll need to come in “long everything” bush protective clothing including boots/shoes and a hat.
All tools required will be provided. Let’s know you’re planning to come by email to Norm or just turn up on the day.
For more info and to check starting times and dates etc of events, see the Petrie Creek BushCare FB Page or contact Norm Morwood 0409 63 99 44 or email normmorwood@gmail.com.
