Property Lane marked the end of another big year on Friday night with a Christmas gathering at Club Namba Hotel with staff, clients, trades and supporters coming together to celebrate the relationships behind the business.
Owner William Emms opened the night with a nod to the people who make Property Lane what it is, from landlords, buyers and sellers to trades, suppliers and his sales and rental teams.
“If you are here, it means you’ve been a big part of our world this year,” Mr Emms said. “Thank you for putting your trust in us. Your ongoing support makes the hard work worthwhile.”
He paid tribute to property managers Jody, Brooke and Salene praising their ability to juggle problems and issues “with your sanity mostly intact”.
Mr Emms said he was proud of his sales agents who had come from a variety of backgrounds but shared a common purpose.
“We’re a diverse bunch, but we all have a relentless desire to support our clients,” he said. “To endure through tough campaigns, to manage difficult conversations, and to always, always exceed expectations – and to do it with integrity.”
Property Manager Jody Chatillon kept the spirit going with her trademark candour.
“Property management is absolutely not for the faint-hearted,” she said. “We deal with owners, tenants, money, maintenance and every personality under the sun — but this is a great office to work in. We look out for each other, and that matters.”
She thanked the trades who “save us on weekends when something breaks” and acknowledged the chamber and business community for keeping her connected to what’s happening around town.
Mr Emms wished everyone a safe Christmas and an opportunity-filled new year. “Behind every home, every repair, every sale, there are real people,” Mr Emms said. “Thank you for being part of our extended family.”
