Brilliant young pianists Reuben Tsang, Madeleine Xiao to perform at Lucas Parklands

Two brilliant young pianists both rising stars will perform major piano concerti at  Lucas Parklands at Montville later his month.

Australia’s Rueben Tsang together with New Zealand’s Madeleine Xiao combine to play the Brahms and Rachmaninov 2nd piano concerto on Sunday, August 23, at 2pm

Reuben has impressed and turned musical heads since his very early years growing up in Cairns: learning the piano from age 5, he attracted rave reviews as a boy, later performing for the then Prince Charles during a royal visit.

His talents have developed further at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, performances with the Queensland and Melbourne symphony orchestras, and he is today a multi-international performer and multi-award winner, recognised for his ‘technical wizardry and versatility’

Meantime, Madeliene, described as ‘the wonder girl from Auckland’, is one of New Zealand’s most exciting and sought-after young pianists, recognised for her musical versatility and powerful-yet-gentle sound, combined with a magnetic mature confidence that captivates audiences for as long as she demanded their attention.

Born in Auckland in 2005, she studied her Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree at the University of Auckland, garnering international acclaim as a top-prize winner in every major national competition across solo, concerto, and chamber music, and performances on major stages around the world.

These young pianists have both previously impressed the audiences at Lucas Parklands, but in August will perform together for the first time.

“Reuben is a wonderful young man, very down to earth, very committed to his craft, and Madeliene has been captivating audiences with her outstanding musical abilities, warmth and maturity,” Ian Lucas, of Lucas Parklands, said.

Rueben Tsang and Madeleine Xiao will perform on Sunday August 23rd at 2pm. Their repertoire will include: Brahms, Piano Concerto No.2 and Rachmaninov, Piano Concerto No.2.

Upcoming concerts include:

Berta Brozgul, Eugenie Tamplon, and friends, on Saturday October 3, at 3pm. They will perform: Camille Saint-Saëns, The Carnival of the Animals; Schumann, Carnival and Tchaikovsky, Pas de Deux.

Piers Lane and Berta Brozgul will perform on Sunday October 4th, at 3pm. They will perform: Schubert, Impromptu in G flat; Chopin, Mazurka; Chopin, Ballade No.1 and No.3 and Grieg, Piano Concerto.
