Planning is now underway to deliver important safety and efficiency improvements at the notorious intersection of Nambour Connection and Diddillibah roads in Woombye.
Member for Nicklin Marty Hunt and Member for Ninderry Dan Purdie say locals have waited too long for action, but the Crisafulli Government is getting on with the job.
“This intersection has been a danger and a source of frustration for years - our community deserves better,” Mr Hunt said.
“Dan and I stood here and promised this $2.5 million upgrade before the election, and now we’re delivering it through the Safer Roads, Better Transport Initiative.”
Early investigations will begin in the coming weeks, with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) undertaking ground surveys to help shape the best possible design and solution for locals.
“These surveys are a critical first step to make sure the final design improves safety, tackles congestion, and meets the needs of everyone who uses this busy
intersection,” Mr Purdie said.
Nearby property owners will be contacted soon so survey teams can access land around the intersection. This work will help identify hazards, map existing
infrastructure and ensure the project is planned to the highest safety standards.
A concept layout will be released once planning progresses.
“We’ll keep our communities updated as more information comes to hand,” Mr Hunt said.
“This is about delivering on our promise - safer roads for locals, especially families and businesses in Diddillibah and Woombye,” Mr Purdie said.
“Marty Hunt MP and I will continue to work together to fight for and achieve, better outcomes for our neighbouring electorates.”
