Soup + Soul event celebrates 60 years of creativity in Buderim

The Sunshine Coast Art Group is inviting the community to warm up this winter at its much-loved annual Soup + Soul - Exhibition & Art Market on Saturday 18 July from 9am–2pm at the SCArt Studios, Buderim.

This year’s event is especially significant as the community art group celebrates 60 years of creativity on the Sunshine Coast.

The free community event combines handmade art, homemade food, live music and local creativity in a vibrant celebration of the arts — a true feast for the senses.

A highlight of the day is the popular soup-and-bowl experience. For $20, visitors can select a unique handmade ceramic bowl created by local artisans and have it filled with delicious homemade soup served with crusty bread.

Hand-sewn microwave bowl holders, crafted by the SCArt sewing group, will also be available to purchase.

Alongside the soup experience, visitors can browse a diverse range of locally made arts and crafts including pottery, paintings, sculpture, jewellery, textiles and garden art — all at affordable prices.

Live music, live art demonstrations, face painting, sweet treats and an on- site coffee van will add to the festive atmosphere, making it an enjoyable day out for all ages.

With the event growing in popularity each year, organisers encourage visitors to arrive early to secure their favourite handmade bowl.
