New rewards program offers loyalty savings at SPAR

SPAR Australia has announced the launch of a national loyalty program designed to deliver more personalised shopping experiences.
The new SPAR Rewards program, powered by Australian loyalty provider Slyp, will give SPAR access to advanced loyalty capabilities seen in many large supermarket chains, while allowing SPAR to preserve their community-first approach that defines the brand.
The launch of SPAR Rewards reflects a deliberate shift in how SPAR Australia is approaching customer engagement, moving beyond traditional, one-size-fits-all loyalty models to a more dynamic and personalised strategy as seen among other leading Australian grocery organisations.
“Loyalty is no longer just about discounting, it’s about relevance,” said Lou Jardin, Managing Director of SPAR Australia. “We want to better understand how our customers shop, what matters to them and how we can reward them in a way that feels genuinely personal.”
Through SPAR Rewards, the business aims to better understand individual customer purchasing behaviour, deliver personalised offers based on individual shopping habits, test and optimise loyalty campaigns to drive engagement, and strengthen long-term relationships between customers and their local store.
SPAR Rewards has been designed to align with the expectations of today’s shoppers – simple, frictionless and personalised.
Powered by Slyp’s loyalty platform, the program integrates directly with SPAR’s POS systems, enabling a fast rollout and real-time visibility into performance. This allows SPAR to continuously refine its loyalty strategy based on live customer insights.
For SPAR’s customers, they will be able to access their new rewards program via the Go Rewards mobile app where they can track points, find personalised offers and redeem rewards credit towards future shops.
“Having access to real-time data allows us to move faster and make better decisions,” said Jardin. “It ensures we’re delivering value to both our customers and our store operators.”
The introduction of SPAR Rewards positions loyalty as a key driver of growth for SPAR Australia, by enabling better customer understanding, creating more efficient promotions and building stronger supplier partnerships.
The SPAR Rewards program will be rolling out in phases, with the first 10 stores launching today ahead of a broader national rollout.
