Local sporting clubs invited to get their game on at Sports On! Information Session
Local sporting clubs and community organisations are encouraged to register for the second annual Sports On! Information Session, happening on Thursday, August 6 at Northern Grounds, Diddillibah.
Hosted by local MPs Dan Purdie, Brent Mickelberg and Marty Hunt, the event will provide clubs with valuable information on grants, support opportunities, and practical advice to help strengthen local sporting organisations.
Member for Nicklin Marty Hunt said the event was about equipping local clubs with additional knowledge, resources and connections to help strengthen their organisations and continue growing participation in sport across the region.
“Local sporting clubs are the heartbeat of our communities,” he said.
“They bring people together, create opportunities for young people and rely on the dedication of volunteers who give so much of their time.
“This year’s Sports On! Information Session is a fantastic opportunity for local club executives to hear directly from State Sports & Racing Officers, learn about available funding and build relationships that can help them grow and succeed.
“Following the success of last year's event, we've listened to feedback and made this year's session even more practical, with more speakers, opportunities for one-on-one conversations, a Q&A at the end, plus networking.”
Mr Hunt encouraged all local sporting clubs and community organisations to register and take advantage of the free event.
“Whether you're looking for funding, advice or simply new ideas to strengthen your club, this event has something to offer. I encourage every local sporting organisation to come along and be part of it.”
