St John’s players selected for UK rugby tour

St John’s College Nambour’s Bentley Browne, Sonny Edwards and Lachlan Tytherleigh will test their skills in traditional rugby conditions this December after being selected in the 2026 Rugby Pathways Wolves Under 15s team to tour the UK and Ireland.

Inside centre Bentley, pictured, fullback Sonny & fly-half Lachlan will be part of a squad chosen to represent their clubs, schools, families and Australia, trading a warm Australian summer for “old school rugby in the cold of an English & Irish Winter”.

For the young Nambour players, the selection is a proud milestone and a reward for their commitment to the game.

The team also includes players from Brothers Sunshine Coast, Wests Bulldogs, Caloundra Lighthouses, St Mary’s College Toowoomba and further afield.

The tour will give players the chance to experience rugby union in the UK and Ireland while also taking in the culture and history of places many have only read about.

Bentley is now fundraising to help cover the cost of the international tour, with a goal of raising $10,000.
