Red carpets, panoramic views, champagne and ceremonial scissors described as “the most beautiful” the mayor had ever used, marked Sundale’s official opening of its impressive Hilltop Events Centre at Palmwoods on Wednesday (August 13) .

The grand opening represented a “three-for-one” celebration according to Sundale CEO Cameron Taylor, simultaneously launching the new events centre, welcoming new residents to recently completed accommodations and unveiling Sundale’s refreshed brand identity.

“When you look at the quality of the product that we put on the ground today, it’s a significant step for us on that transition to be the Sundale of the future,” Mr Taylor told residents and dignitaries.

Mayor Rosanna Natoli praised the campus as “truly impressive and really a meaningful addition to the Sundale Palmwoods community,” emphasising that the centre provided more than just a physical space.

“This building gives you a sense of place, it gives you a place to gather together, to share stories, to share good times, to share sad times, but really ultimately to connect. And isn’t that what life is all about?” she said.

Palmwoods Resident Committee Chairman, Wes Parry, spoke about the community’s journey. “Many of us have watched this space transform from an idea into something quite extraordinary,” he said. “We have seen the construction from day one, the planning, the effort, and now we will all get to enjoy the result.”

The centre’s development aligns with Sundale’s new brand promise of helping residents “feel at home,” a concept that emerged from nine months of focus groups and discussions with staff and customers under the guidance of Executive Manager Brand & Communications Tracey Gillinder.

“We believe that care and seniors living should feel like home,” Mr Taylor explained. “Whether you work here or you live here, it’s all about the stories that you bring and the experiences that you create.”

The Hilltop Events Centre is the centerpiece of Sundale’s expanded Palmwoods community, which now integrates residential units, a care centre, and in-home care services in one location.  “This space belongs to you. Let’s make it a place full of laughter, music, companionship and of course purpose,” said Wes.
