Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show unveils theme for 120th anniversary: “Celebrating 120 Years of Show Traditions”
The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society is thrilled to announce the official theme for the milestone 2026 Show: “Celebrating 120 Years of Show Traditions.”
The theme honours the Show’s remarkable history, which first began in 1900, while setting the stage for a spectacular three-day event that looks confidently toward the future. Show President, Rowan O’Hara, said the 120th Show Anniversary provides an ideal opportunity to reflect on the deep history, community involvement and from our humble beginnings to now being recognised as one of the largest ticketed events on the Sunshine Coast.
“For 120 years, our Show has been the gathering place for the Coast—a unique event where our agricultural roots meet our modern, diverse community,” said O’Hara. “This theme, ‘Celebrating 120 Years of Show Traditions,’ is a heartfelt tribute to every exhibitor, every volunteer, every local producer, and every family who has walked through our gates since the first show.”.
The 2026 Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show will take place from 12-14 June 2026 at the Nambour Showgrounds.
Further details on competition schedules and entertainment will be released in the coming months. If you want to get involved to make our 120 Year Anniversary even better please reach out to Mark Paddenburg or Penny Walsh on 5441 2766.
Show History Notes
● The Sunshine Coast Show has only missed a few years since its inception in 1900, primarily due to the World War when the Showgrounds were used as a temporary hospital, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
● A special pre-Show arts event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
● Further details on competition schedules, entertainment, and ticketing will be released in the coming months.
