Mayor Rosanna Natoli delivered a passionate endorsement of Nambour's economic future at the Chamber of Commerce meeting on October 2, declaring the town has reached a crucial “tipping point” in its revival.
Speaking to a packed audience at the Nambour Cinema and Events Centre, Mayor Natoli emphasised the unified political support behind the town’s transformation, with state members, councillors and economic development portfolio holders all present to demonstrate their commitment.
“This is the moment for Nambour,” she said. “And we are all 100 percent behind people like Will (developer William Phillips) and those other developments that are lodged or about to be lodged,” Mayor Natoli told the gathering, referencing key development projects that could catalyse broader economic growth.
The Mayor painted a picture of Nambour's potential, comparing it to Brisbane's trendy West End precinct – describing a future that was “alive, vibrant, and a little bit edgy”.
“We want to be the new Nambour of the future,” she said, acknowledging that while love and support were essential, “Nambour needs money” to see real transformation.
Mayor Natoli praised C Square owner and developer William Phillips, the Chamber of Commerce and I am Nambour’s Rhonda Billett, and their teams for driving a vision that would restore Nambour to its former glory, and beyond.
“Once we have that economic flow-through into the town, it will start more. And this is the beginning of something truly amazing.”
