Tennis Club bounces back stronger than ever

While the lockdown has meant no events in the Nambour Showgrounds, Nambas Tennis Club has used the opportunity to have a troublesome court re-built.

Nambas’ number three court has required multiple repairs over many years as it was built on unstable ground too close to Petrie Creek. A major repair was done following the 2011 floods, including moving the whole court further from the creek. But the drainage problems continued.

With the help of a grant of $35,000 from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and Nambas self funding the major portion, a complete reconstruction has now been completed.

Nambas Tennis Club now has four top class synthetic grass tennis courts all under lights.

With Covid-19 restrictions reduced, Nambas is again able to offer a range of organised social tennis sessions six days a week to both members and visitors.

If you are interested in joining us, please refer to our web site at nambastennis.org for the standard and times of these sessions.
