Sunshine Coast charity offers unique opportunity to contribute to new facility

The Everyday Foundation is inviting the Sunshine Coast community to help bring its new Nambour-based facility to life through a unique fundraising campaign called the Fit Out Fund.

Through the charity's online shop, supporters can purchase real items needed to get the building ready to open. Everything from a chair to a shelf, or even a forklift.

General Manager Karen Gullo said the campaign was a fun and personal way for people to get involved.

"We love the community we serve, and we designed the Fit Out Fund to be a unique way for people to have a sense of ownership over our new facility," Karen said.

"Our new building is so important for the Sunshine Coast community, especially as cost-of-living pressures continue to rise."

The Everyday Foundation is relocating from Howard St to Currie St in the second half of 2026. The new building will house a café, low-cost grocery store, emergency relief program, and meal support kitchen.

Demand for emergency relief has increased by nearly 50% year on year, and the new facility will allow for significant increases in capacity to help those in need.

Karen said she couldn't wait to welcome the community into the new facility.

"Our low-cost food outlet is available to everyone, and our new more visible location will allow us to reach even more people," Karen said. "Every time you shop with us, you help fund programs that make a real difference on the Coast."
