Trippple Trouble brings spring jazz spectacle to Maleny

Maleny is set to swing this spring when three of Australia’s top jazz performers bring their genre-bending show, Trippple Trouble, to the Maleny Community Centre on Sunday October 12 at 2pm. Presented by Maleny Arts Council in partnership with the Rangebow Festival, the concert promises a lively afternoon of vintage swing infused with modern twists and plenty of fun.

Trippple Trouble features the vocal talents of Dan Barnett, George Washingmachine and Lauren Dawes, supported by Paul Henderson on guitar and Samuel Vincent on bass. The ensemble is billed as “Trippple the voices; Trippple the vibe; Trippple the trouble!” and organisers say the show will deliver slick harmonies, toe-tapping rhythms and a generous dose of mischief.

Maleny Arts Council president Claire Booth said the concert rounds out a strong 2025 program. “This continues our tradition of bringing the highest quality jazz to Maleny,” she said. The event is also presented in conjunction with the Brisbane Vocal Jazz Festival, placing Maleny firmly on the state’s live music map.

Audience members are encouraged to dress to impress and enjoy an afternoon where, as the promoters put it, “you’ll leave with your heart swinging and your soul stirred — not shaken.”

• Trippple Trouble Jazz is at Maleny Community Centre on Sunday October 12 at 2pm. Tickets: $55 adults, $50 MAC members, $30 students. Bookings via malenyartscouncil@gmail.com or 0409 597 007.
