“I’ve been in business for 27 years in Nambour this year and Uptown Hair Studio Nambour is so very special to me,” Rhonda said. “When I started Uptown Hair Studio, it was about the customer and their needs, and that has not changed over our decades of business. Rhonda said every appointment started with understanding the client, how much time they had, how they liked to wear their hair and what would make them feel confident day to day. “Uptown Hair Studio’s signature hair services centre around creating hairstyles that match real lifestyles, not just trends,” she said.
That includes Sunshine Coast-inspired beachy blondes, beachy brunettes and bronde tones, lived-in hair colours, low-maintenance grey blending, razor cuts, face-framing cuts, textured cuts and styles that are designed to be manageable once clients leave the salon.
The team stocks premium hair care brands including ghd, Goldwell, KMS, Dualsenses, Kerasilk and Eleven Australia, and offers Goldwell ammonia-free colour services for clients seeking gentler colour options.
Uptown Hair has also introduced services for women who want beautiful hair but cannot afford to lose half a day in the salon. “We understand how busy and full people’s lives are these days and we have shifted to cater for that with express hair services,” Rhonda said.
That includes Goldwell Gloss 10-minute colour options, as well as seating where clients can plug in a laptop or phone and keep working while their hair is done.
Rhonda said the whole team took training seriously and travelled nationally each year as part of its annual education program.
That commitment helps the salon bring the latest skills, trends, products and hair solutions back to Nambour.

For Rhonda, hairdressing is also about how people feel when they leave. “Being a hairdresser really is a privileged role,” she said.
“Sometimes people can come through the front door with the weight of the world on their shoulders when they arrive. But after a relaxing shampoo, condition, massage and hair style, people leave the studio with their head up a little higher, feeling a little better and more confident, it’s so special.”
As Nambour’s CBD continues to undergo revitalisation, Rhonda and her team have also refreshed the salon itself, recently adding new flooring and cabinetry to brighten the space for 2026.
She said Uptown Hair had been fortunate to have Will and the team from Sandran as long-term property partners, with Sandran providing the studio’s home for 20 years.
“It’s so good to have a landlord that loves Nambour and is committed to the community as much as we are,” Rhonda said. “Team work makes our dreams work.”
